I dont know about you, but I am a truck driver, and have been for many years.
But you do not necesarily need to be a trucker to see what is going on, and what huge problems have been brought about by these two strong arms implemented by our government.
Firstly, the FMCSA (federal motor carrier safety administration) Hmmmm… One must wonder what kind of heavy duty drugs these folks are on after the constant bouncing back and forth with what is safe, and what is not safe, (for example) with our on duty status, and driving times…. log book rules. One year it is safe to drive eleven hours, so long as you dont get any rest at all during that time. But if you rest somewhere, say to avoid a possible accident, or other headache in atlanta or chicago rush hour traffic, and then finnish your eleven hours, get caught, you will be fined, and possibly put OOS (out of service) for driving too long, and being unsafe. until they change their mind. BUT, the FMCSA sees their woeful action, and changes it back to the way it used to be. OOPS, “WE GET A RE-DO” they say, so back to the eleven hour deal for awhile, but “NO!! WAIT!!! Whats happening? We cant just leave it alone!! Then we wont have anything to do, and we will therefore be useless!!” Is It just me, or are all of you fellow truckers getting excedingly tired of these numbskulls trying to just keep everyone confused to the point where even the DOT does not know, alot of times what the hell the laws are? I think the FMCSA is nothing more than a bunch of idiots in suits and ties playing with us like we are black ants in an ant farm, introducing and taking away same laws again and again (red ants) into our ant farm. hate and discontent is all you end up with. I have nothing good to say about the FMCSA.
NAFTA…..(north amaerican free trade agreement) I do not know where to even start with this pet of George W. This free trade deal will be the ruin of this country in the end. mark my words….RUIN. After listening to the ex-president of mexico the other day, saying that him and George bush had long-term plans of even having the two monies (dollar, and peso) somehow changed to one and the same, If I hadnt lost ALL faith in Bush before that I have now. Thats stupid! And the NAFTA SUPER HIGHWAY?? Im not paying for it. No way. If thats what this whole nafta thing is really about, then go ahead and put up the damned fences, and let the minute man do his thing. These are pills That will not be pushed down my throat. Nobody is gonna be raping this ol boy unless and until Im dead.
I hope that our next president has the guts to get rid of the useless, and unwanted branches that our government has been allowed to grow.
